About

Founded in 2017 by Carie Fisher, A11yTalks began as a passionate effort to bridge the gap between developers and accessibility experts. Fast forward to 2025, and our community has blossomed into a vibrant group of nine dedicated members — driving conversations that matter in accessibility and inclusive tech.

At A11yTalks, we’re committed to creating a welcoming, safe space where everyone feels empowered to participate openly and respectfully. Our community thrives on meaningful dialogue, shared learning, and mutual respect — guided by a clear Code of Conduct that applies to all our events and interactions.

Diversity is at our core. We actively seek to amplify voices from PwD, BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, women, and other underrepresented groups in tech through our speaker line-up. Have ideas on how we can make A11yTalks even more inclusive and inviting? We’d love to hear from you!
